I think “guy” movies are less of a thing than people make it out to be. I think females, as a generality of course, are fairly able to relate to male leads and male relationships without feeling a gender-based disconnect.
Whether it’s in our nature or merely an adaptation to a relative lack of well done female led films is a discussion for another day. I just know many of my favorite films are more of a boy/man’s tale (also, I *love* Hemingway…)
